Best practices from Brazil, Tanzania and Turkey Virtual crop advice for growers and business partners
The coronavirus outbreak calls for a different approach to communication. But one thing is clear: it doesn’t stop us from providing growers and business partners with the best technical crop advice to support their businesses. We offer several solutions for staying in touch with us virtually. Here, we proudly share examples of best practices from Rijk Zwaan in Brazil, Tanzania and Turkey.
Live Q&A – Brazil
In April, Rijk Zwaan Brasil started holding weekly ten-minute webinars on Instagram: interviews between an expert from Rijk Zwaan and a grower. The series of live Q&A webinars started on 16 April with a deep-dive into organic production, during which an experienced organic grower shared details of his experience of switching to organic cultivation, including tips & tricks.“The upcoming webinars will address topics like hydroponic lettuce cultivation, digital marketing, and market trends & developments. A grower answers questions from his/her peers. Over 500 growers joined our first webinar – an impressive number which confirms that we’re responding to a need in the market,” explains Gabriel Brangeli Moreira, Specialist E-Commerce at Rijk Zwaan Brasil.“The growers who attended the webinar were very pleased that Rijk Zwaan shared this relevant information. They really had the feeling that we’re taking care of them. And we do, of course!” Are you interested to find out what the webinars could mean for your business? Please visit the Instagram account of Rijk Zwaan BR. The next webinar will be on 7 May about market trends & developments.
Plants are growing like crazy – Tanzania
Facebook and Instagram were already important communication channels for Rijk Zwaan Tanzania. What is new is the weekly live broadcast via these social media channels to provide customers with current information.Harald Peeters, Area Manager Africa in Arusha, Tanzania, explains: “We’re experiencing the best rainy season in a decade. Plants are growing like crazy. At our demo location, preparations for our annual Nane Nane demo in August commence with sowing in the nursery. We’re aiming to broadcast weekly on topics such as sowing in trays, locally made medium for trays, why to use greenhouses, transplanting, soil preparations and crop management of all our different indoor and outdoor varieties.”For more details, go to Rijk Zwaan Tanzania on Instagram or the Facebook page for Tanzania. See inside the greenhouse with 360° videos – Turkey
The need to share knowledge and demos virtually with customers is growing. Rijk Zwaan Turkey has started its own YouTube account, and it now shares one or more 360° videos from inside its greenhouses via YouTube and other social media channels every week.
“Our crop specialists and product development specialists provide information about the traits of the filmed varieties,” says Sayen Açar, Assistant Marketing Communication in Antalya, Turkey. Has this sparked your interest? Watch the 360° videos on YouTube and follow Rijk Zwaan Turkey on Facebook.
